Since a few days ago, it's available a new solution to modify the Lite-On 9504 readers from Xbox 360 Slim, without the requirement of changing the reader and make the spoofing.

One of the machines that was recently to easy the flashing of the readers it's the Maximus Lizard, a very good machine which will easy the life of all the people who has a Xbox360 Slim and a Lite-On 9504 reader.

At first sight it seems so complicated, but if you read step by step this tutorial, and having some patience, a few minutes ago you will have your reader ready.

First of all is enumerate all the requirements which we will need (about updates we will explain it forward)

Once we have all the material on our hands, it's time to work and begin with the flashing of the Lite-On 9504 reader.

  1. First of all we have to update our Maximus 360 Lizard till the last version, only to be sure that we have all updated when we try to modify the reader and avoid some troubles.

To do that, click this link to access to the updates tutorial from Maximus Lizard, that we have already written

  1. Following thing can be the most complicated of all, because it will consist in open our Xbox 360 Slim, something that can be so hard if it's our first time.

For this, the XCM easy our life with XCM X8 Unlock Tool for Xbox 360 Slim, a tool kit perfectly designed to extract the whole case from the Xbox 360 Slim. This process is so hard, so here we leave you a video where someone shows us how to do it.

  1. It's time to download things just to start the operation of our Lite-On 9504. So, we will need:

  1. Unzip all the previous download and – besides of the Lizard Toolbox – we will have two files called Original_Fileset.set and CFW_LTPLUS_11.set which we must copy into a new folder which comes with the Lizard Toolbox called CFW_Templates.

  2. Now it's time for the fun! Connect the reader 9504 to the Slim on the SATA of the Maximus 360 Lizard and we give feeding to the reader, whether with the own feeding of the console or with the Connectivity Kit.

  3. When we have all ready and connected, we open the Lizard Toolbox and on the first thumb index we go to the option “Get Device Details”, so this we will se if it detects properly the reader.

  1. With the Maximus 360 Lizard on our hands we go to the “S-Liteon” and we chose the option “Read key”.

Once we have reached this point, the Maximus Lizar will as us to switch off and then switch on the console 3 times in a row, then press OK to start reading the reader key, when it ends we will see “Key read sucess”

  1. We go back to the PC, in the same thumb index of the Lizard Toolbox we press the option “Lizard File/Snapshot Get” to save the original key of the reader in an address which we choose.

  1. Now we must go to the second thumb from the Lizard Toolbox (CFW Generator) and select the option “Load FW”.

We must take now the file “source_dummy.bin” which we saved before, we go to the menu “CFW fileset Template”, we choose the option “LTPLUS 1.1 FILESET” and finally we press “ CFW Save as...” to save the modified firm to flash the reader.

  1. We go back to the 360 Lizard, and once again we go to the menu “S-Liteon”and then to “MTK Mode”. The same as before, it will ask us to switch off the reader.

Once this process is done, we press OK and we go back to the menu “S-Liteon” and enter in the option “Firmware Write”

  1. The Lizard will ask twice if we are sure about write in the reader. When we are sure, we press to begin the process.

  2. We go again to the PC to send the data of writing, we go back to the Toolbox and at the thumb index ·Lizard Interface” we press the option “Lizard File Serve”, we select the CFW modified what we have saved before and the 360 Lizard should begin to flash the unity.

  1. When it's done, it will check if it's everything ok. We press ok and voilá! We will have our Lite-On 9504 ready to execute the backups

So now, we just have to set up the console again.
