DSTwo Tutorial for 3DS 7.1.0.15

By hack on 16.Dec.2013 facebook_16 twitter_16 delicious_16 bitacoras

Nintendo has updated the firmware for the Nintendo 3DS currently leaving it in version 7.1.0.15. For those users who have a flashcard, they will have seen that this update blocks the DSTWO preventing access data or the interface itself.

Fortunately, the Supercard Team has released a patch that allows us to continue enjoying the benefits of this cartridge even if the console is updated.

Do the steps? The usual. We will need the following:

  • Nintendo DS console WITHOUT UPDATE (It can't be done with the 3DS already in the 7.1.0.15)
  • OS DSTWO V.1.11
  • Firmware DSTWO V.1.25

The first thing to do is to download the operating system and firmware. Once downloaded, unzip both files and you will have the following:

  • Folder _dstwo
  • File ds2boot.dat
  • File dstwoupdate.dat

You have to copy these three files to the root of the microSD, so you just open the microSD on your PC, we need to see the files mentioned above.

Once done, we put the microSD in the cartridge and this in the console. We remind that it can't be donefrom the console that has the version 7.1.0.15. You need a console WITHOUT UPDATE to avoid problems with the versions, the best one is to take a DS Lite, who is lacking of updates.

When we go to access the menu, it will popup a window that will indicate that an update is available. To make it, you just have to press the A Button and wait for it to finish.

And ready! With this we have our Supercard DSTWO available to work on Nintendo 3DS with version 7.1.0.15.

M3 Plus Tutorial for 3DS 4.5.0.10 and DSi/XL 1.4.5

By hack on 22.Apr.2013 facebook_16 twitter_16 delicious_16 bitacoras

We have a new update available that brings our M3 Plus cartridge to Nintendo 3DS version 4.5.0.10 and DSi 1.4.5.

As always, we remind you to not update the console, to not block the cartridge and in case you want to update, look back first if there is an update for the cartridge and thus will save us to search for another console.

We will need the following:

  •      Nintendo DS Lite or DSi (with earlier firmware version than these, a DS Lite is preferable because its lacking of updates)
  •      OS M3 Plus 1.40.2
  •      Update M3 Plus 3D4.5.0x

Once we download the files, unpack them and we will have the following:

System 1.40.2:

  •      Folder __ m3p
  •      Folder CHANNELS
  •      Folder Game
  •      Folder Movie
  •      Folder Music
  •      Folder Pics
  •      Folder Rts
  •      Folder Update
  •      File _MPMENU.dat

Firmware M3 Plus 3D 4.5.0.10:

     File M3P_serUpdatefor3D_4_5_0_x.nds

Tip: This last file, it's better to put it in the Game folder, as it will be easier to locate.

Once we unzipped the two files, we copy its contents to the root of the microSD. At the end we put the microSD in our M3 Plus and cartridge into the console (remember you have to use a not update console).

Now in the menu, locate the file M3P_serUpdatefor3D_4_5_0_x.nds and execute it. A menu in black will appear. We press Start once, then it will ask us if we are sure and we press again Start.

When finished, simply restart the console and we will have the cartridge ready to run on Nintendo 3DS version 4.5.0.10 and DSi 1.4.5.

R4i Gold Tutorial (R4i-Gold.eu) for 3DS with version 5.1.0.11

By hack on 22.Apr.2013 facebook_16 twitter_16 delicious_16 bitacoras

With the 5.1.0.11 update who was released for Nintendo 3DS, many cartridges have been rendered useless. Fortunately we already have patches for some of them, to take full advantage of these cards that offer to the user.

R4i Gold (whose website is r4i-gold.eu) already has a patch that allows the use of the cartridge in the 3DS with the latest installed firmware.

Note: This tutorial is only for the R4i Gold cartridges whose website is r4i-gold.eu and where the front adhesive indicates 1.4.5/4.5. If this is not the case, you should not perform the upgrade because the cartridge may become unusable.

We need:

Download both files and we will have the following:

  •      Folder homebrew
  •      Folder moonmemo
  •      Folder moonshl2
  •      Folder R4iMenu
  •      File R4.dat
  •      File up3dsv50.nds

Once we have this, we copy it to the root of the microSD, we put the microSD in the cartridge and this one in the console (in the NOT updated one, not the 3DS 5.1.0.11) and execute it. Once in the menu, locate the up3dsv50.nds, press the A Button, follow the instructions and enjoy in a few minutes the R4i Gold ready to run on the Nintendo 3DS version 5.1.0.11.

Gameboy Emulator for Flashcards

By hack on 18.Apr.2013 facebook_16 twitter_16 delicious_16 bitacoras

Gameboy, the handheld console who caught that millions of young people from a generation. Great titles we have in this console, wich we can revive in our Nintendo DS with any flashcard on the market. These tests are performed with the Supercard DSTWO, but being a .Nds, i think it will function for any version.

All we need is the Lameboy DS 0.12. After downloading and unzip, we will have a file named Lameboy.nds, which we copy to the microSD. We can put it wherever we want. In the root, in a folder, etc....

From there, everything is simple, just find the rom you want to run and ...Play!

MAME Emulator for Supercard DSTWO

By hack on 18.Apr.2013 facebook_16 twitter_16 delicious_16 bitacoras

In our collection of tutorials for emulators (after Super Nintendo and Gameboy Advance) it's the turn of the legendary MAME.

Note that not all roms are compatible with this emulator, so we have posted the list of the currently operating roms. You can consult the list here.

The process is as easy as the previous one with some particularity which we will explain now.

The first thing we need is the Mame4AllDSTWO. Once downloaded, unzip and we will have the folders _dstwoplug and another called MAME, copy both of them to the root of the microSD.

With this we have set our DSTWO to emulate MAME. We put the roms in the ROMS folder who is within the MAME folder. The file has to be on .zip.

Once in the console, we will have various emulators. Automatically the roms will appear in each of them, depending on who is the developer, Konami, Capcom, etc ...

Tutorial GBA Emulator for Supercard DSTwo

By hack on 18.Apr.2013 facebook_16 twitter_16 delicious_16 bitacoras

The possibilities for flashcards are limitless. Thanks to the people who are responsible for creating various programs, we can using the messenger, internet browsing and even create your own games to start tinkering on these portable devices.

Another option is to run emulators and enjoy classic games of our childhood. To the SNES tutorial, we leave you now the one for the Gameboy Advance, with an equally simple process.

The first thing we need is the TempGBA. After downloading, we unzip it and we will have the following:

  •      Folder TeMPGBA
  •      copyright
  •      tempgba.bmp
  •      tempgba.ini
  •      tempgba.plg

* There are more files, but I have them omitted because they are not necessary

The process? Very simple. We just take the files tempgba.plg, tempgba.ini and tempgba.bmp and we copy them to the folder _dstwoplug in the root of the microSD (in case to not have it, create it) plus the TEMPGBA folder.

Et voilà! We have the chance to enjoy some of the great games for GBA.

Tutorial Ez Flash Vi with DSi/3DS with 1.4.4/4.0.0.7 version

By hack on 27.Apr.2012 facebook_16 twitter_16 delicious_16 bitacoras
@ @

Another cartridge that binds to list flashcarts that are compatible with the 3DS. This is as easy as the previous ones, and after downloading some things and follow a few steps, within minutes we will have our Ez Flash Vi ready to work on Nintendo 3DS.

This tutorial will help you keep your EZ Flash Vi 3DS until version 4.0.0.7 and your Nintendo DSi to 1.4.4 ..

We need:

  1. Nintendo DS Lite or Nintendo DSi (with a version earlier than the above, because we have to access the menu of the cartridge and run a file).
  2. OS 3.0OB7
  3. Update V.1.08A

After downloading the system of section 2, we have to decompress it with Winzip, Winrar or our favorite decompressor. We shall be the following:

  • Folder EZ5Shell
  • File ez5sys.bin
  • File ez5firmwreUP_V108a.nds

When we have all these files, copy them to the root of the microSD. Once copied, we put the microSD into the cartridge and this in the console (remember, FREE upgrade to the console).

1) Run the file and follow the steps ez5firmwreUP_V108a.nds showing on the screen, the update takes about 30 seconds, when finished will ask you reboot the console (reboot).

Once done, we will have the cartridge preaprado to function in our current console.

Note: In case of failure and tell you that you need the 1.0.1 update file, you can download it here (the process would be the same, but running this file first): Firmware 1.01

Note: DO NOT reverse the order of the files, since you can damage the cartridge.
